Taha Carım Memorial Corner, 24.04.2016

In the memory of His Excellency Ambassador of Turkey to Vatican Mr. Taha Carım, as well as the head of mission of the Turkish Consulate General to Alexandria in 1952, who had been assasinated by an Armenian terrorist on the 9th of June 1977 in Rome, a memorial corner was opened at our Consulate General on the 21st of April, 2016. The memorial corner and the book of condolences are available for all who visit our Consulate General.

An Armenian terrorist organization claimed the responsibility for the murder, where Mr. Carım had been trapped in front of his apartment in Rome on the way back from work and been shot from his back with two bullets. The deceased Mr. Taha Carım was the third Turkish Ambassador who had been martyred on his duty as a result of a bloody act of Armenian terrorists. The late Mr. Taha Carım, who lost his life at the age of 63, left a wife and two children behind after this villain attack. Between the years of 1973-1994, approximately 40 Turkish diplomats had been martyred with assasinations conducted by Armenian terrorist organizations.
