Biography of the Consul General

Born in Erzurum in 1968, Consul General Melih Bora Kerimoğlu graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Public Administration in 1991.

Consul General Kerimoğlu, who started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992, undertook duties in the Departments of Disarmament, Cultural Affairs, Promotion and Energy in the central organization. He worked at our Copenhagen, Almaty and Hanoi Embassies, at our Permanent Representation to the UN Vienna Office, and at our Consulate General in Rotterdam as Third Secretary, Second Secretary, Vice Consul, First Secretary and Counsellor.

In his last assignment abroad, he served as Consul General in Guanco, China.

In his last duty in Ankara, he served as the Head of Disarmament Affairs at Department of the General Directorate of International Security.

He started his duty as Consul General in Alexandria on 15 December 2021.
