No: 83, 21 March 2017, Press Release Regarding the demonstrations held in The Hague and Amsterdam on March 20, 2017
The fact that the Dutch authorities allowed the holding of demonstrations where PKK symbols as well as the photos of the terrorist leader were used under the pretext of Newroz celebrations reveals that the Netherlands insistently keeps its recently adopted biased and unfriendly attitude towards our country.
It is unacceptable that the Netherlands allows the demonstrations held by the terrorist organization which target the upcoming referendum in Turkey. This is particularly inadmissible considering that the Netherlands prevented Turkish authorities from meeting with the Turkish community living in this country, violated the Conventions on diplomatic and consular relations and usurped the freedom of speech and assembly. This approach is not only an another demonstration of double standards by the Netherlands against Turkey, but also a regrettable example of practices that distort universal values.
