No:58, 19 February 2017, Press Release Regarding the Terrorist Attack in Somalia
We have learned with deep regret that today (19 February) a large vehicle borne improvised explosive device (LVBİED) bomb attack took place at a heavily civilian populated area near the Wadajir region of Mogadishu resulting in the death of at least 40 people as well as multiple injuries.
We strongly condemn this act of terrorism that has taken place at a time where important steps are being taken to achieve stability in the country.
Turkey, as in the past will continue to firmly support the efforts to ensure peace and stability in Somalia in the upcoming period.
We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack, convey our condolences to their families and wish speedy recovery to the wounded.
