Press Release Regarding the Suicide Attack in Kabul
No: 217, 5 September 2016
We have learnt with great sorrow that according to initial reports at least 20 people lost their lives and more than 40 people were injured in two separate
terrorist attacks perpetrated today (5 September) 5 minutes apart against the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Finance in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul.
We condemn in the strongest terms these terrorist attacks, wish God’s mercy on those who lost their lives, hope for a speedy recovery to the wounded and
convey our condolences to the Government and the brotherly people of Afghanistan.
We believe that the determination of the Government and people of Afghanistan, who have come a long way in the fight against challenges they encountered
with the support of the international community, cannot be undermined. Turkey will maintain its solidarity with brotherly Afghanistan in this process.
