Press Release Regarding the Visit of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, to the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of the 5th CICA Foreign Ministers Meeting

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will visit Beijing on the occasion of the CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia) Foreign Ministers Meeting on 27-28 April 2016.

The CICA Foreign Ministers meetings are held regularly every four years and allow for a high-level and multi-dimensional exchange on issues of interest to the Asian region and for a review of developments in the cooperation process. Supporting CICA’s development since its inception, Turkey assumed Chairmanship of this process that involves 26 member states, 8 observer states and 4 observer international organizations between 2010-2014, handing the Chairmanship to China at the Shangai Summit in May 2014.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will also meet with some of his counterparts in the margins of the CICA meeting.

Besides, Minister Çavuşoğlu will hold a meeting and discuss bilateral relations with H.E. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Also, H.E. Wang Yang, Vice-premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, will receive Minister Çavuşoğlu.
